MC CABLE
MC cable has a galvanized steel or aluminum outer jacket and consists of two or more copper circuit and grounding
conductors. These conductors are encased the jacket at the time of manufacture and are not pulled through the conduit
at a later time. The armor of interlocked MC cable is not an equipment grounding means and requires a separate bare
or green grounding conductor and like Liquidtight, it is permitted (NEC 645) under raised
floor environments. MC cable is flexible, light weight and passes flame tests that permit it to be used in most
"Plenum spaces". Standard MC cable is not suitable for use in damp or wet locations; however it is available with
a PVC jacket that expands its acceptability. MC cable is available in a wide variety of sizes and colors as well
and can be manufactured with multiple hot, neutral and ground configurations.
